It’s strawberry season in Georgia, and what better way to celebrate than making this delicious fresh strawberry dessert!
Georgia Strawberry Cobbler
Ingredients:
4 cups sliced fresh Georgia strawberries
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 cup flour
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 egg, beaten
6 tablespoons butter, melted
2 tablespoons light brown sugar
Directions:
Place strawberries in an 8 x 8-inch dish and sprinkle with lemon juice.
Combine flour, 1 cup sugar, baking powder and egg; mix with a fork. The mixture will be dry and crumbly.
Sprinkle dry mixture evenly over strawberries and drizzle with melted butter. Sprinkle brown sugar over mixture.
Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes or until golden and bubbly.
Makes 6 to 8 servings.
