A Little Something for Everyone

A Little Something for Everyone

At Wesley Woods of Newnan, we plan a variety of activities that offer fun and entertainment as well as intellectual, physical and spiritual stimulation.

“Just look at our monthly calendar as an example,” says Sharon Edgar, Director of Pastoral Care & Resident Life. “We have planned activities that occur on a regular basis as well as special events. Many of these are open not only to our residents, but also to their families and friends and the community.”

Each month, Sharon and Activities Assistants Jean Barrow and Erika Stepheny plan out a roster that includes bridge groups, art classes, a book club, fitness classes, technology workshops, worship services and more. Also, guest speakers and entertainers are invited to visit Wesley Woods.

“Recently, the Lake Junaluska Singers from North Carolina came to entertain us. They’ve been performing, nationally and internationally, for 60 years. It was an honor to have them here,” states Sharon. “Additionally, we often invite local experts to come to Wesley Woods and conduct discussions on topics like finances, music or wellness.”

And then there are the expeditions to interesting nearby places! For example, Wesley Woods residents have recently “dressed like cows” for Chick-fil-A’s Cow Appreciation Day, attended the World Music Festival at Spivey Hall, taken a tour of the Georgia Governor’s Mansion, visited the Cyclorama and Margaret Mitchell House, and enjoyed movies and live performances at local theatres.

At Wesley Woods of Newnan, we believe in promoting an energetic, vibrant lifestyle…with a little something for everyone.
