The Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) was designed to protect employees when they need time off for themselves or to care for a loved one in time of need.  To be eligible for FMLA Leave you must:

  • Have worked at least 12 months (need not be consecutive):
  • Have worked at least 1,250 hours for Wesley Woods Senior Living over the preceding 12 months (these hours must be actual hours worked, and do not include comprehensive leave or extended leave balances)

Reason for Leave

FMLA leave may be taken for the following medical reasons:

  • For a serious health condition that makes you unable to perform your job
  • For incapacity due to pregnancy, prenatal medical care or childbirth;
  • To care for a newborn after birth, or placement of a child with you for adoption or foster care;
  • To care for your spouse, son or daughter, parent or same-sex domestic partner, who has a serious health condition

In order to get this protection, you must fill out the appropriate paperwork and also have your doctor fill out the certification.  It may seem a little overwhelming but the process to apply for FMLA is very simple.  If you are requesting FMLA, just click on the link below and download the necessary forms to start the process.  If you need any additional guidance on this process, feel free to contact the Human Resources Department at 404-728-6858.  Remember, any FMLA Leave will require the first three days to be paid as PTO before you can access your Sick Leave Bank.  Also, the FMLA paperwork does not automatically start your Short Term Disability Benefits.  You will need to contact Aetna at 1-866-326-1380.

We understand that starting a new job can be a little overwhelming! That's why we are here to help! If you have any questions, please let your supervisor know!

Welcome aboard!

It is important to us to help our employees learn more about their job. That is why all of our employees are required to complete online training. Here are a few FAQ's about our online training program!

1. What is online training all about?

2. How do I access my online classes?

3. What kind of classes will I take?

4. How many classes are required?

5. How long do the classes take to complete?

6. Are classes mandatory?

7. When do I have to start working on my classes?

8. What happens if I do not finish all of my classes before they are due?

What is online training all about?

Good question! Sometimes is it difficult to schedule long meetings or training sessions with all employees. With our online training, employees can still learn more about their job, but at their own pace. Although, you will still have some departmental meetings and in-services, but online training can help with other topics that are required for your job.

How do I access my online classes?

Online Training

To access your online classes, click here. A new window will appear where you can log in to your classes. Enter your last name in the first field and enter your clock-in number (i.e. 012345600) for the employee id.

What kind of classes will I take?

We have classes that are fun, interactive and will help you learn more about your job! There are many different topics that pertain to Long-Term Care and Customer Service.

How many classes are required?

Each employee is assigned 3 classes each quarter.

How long do the classes take to complete?

Most classes take around 30-45 minutes to complete. If you start a class and have to stop, your work will be saved. You will be able to pick up where you left off next time you sign in.

Are the classes mandatory?

Yes, it is a job requirement to complete all assigned classes each quarter.

When do I have to start working on my classes?

Your first set of classes have already been assigned to you and are available for you to take them. We do recommend that you take your classes soon and not wait until the due date.

What happens if I do not finish all of the classes before the due date?

It is important that you complete all of your assigned classes before the due date. Otherwise, you will not be compliant with the training section of your performance review at the end of the year. Because our pay increases are determined by performance reviews, you may not be eligible for an increase if you are not compliant in that area.
