Celebrate Georgia’s Blueberries

July is National Blueberry Month! Blueberries are an excellent source of antioxidants. One cup of blueberries has just 80 calories, no fat and provides 25% of the daily requirement for Vitamin C. Georgia is among the top five blueberry producing states in the U.S.

Keep your blueberries fresh and tasty by doing the following

  • Blueberries should be refrigerated as soon as you bring them home, either in their original pack or in a storage container.
  • Don’t wash berries right away; wait until you’re ready to eat them.
  • Consume blueberries within 10 days of purchase.
  • When blueberries are in season, stock up! You can freeze them and enjoy year-round.
